Explore Your Potential to Become Better

Explore Your Potential

There is always a better version of yourself, slightly ahead of where you are now. This “you” isn’t perfect; there is a much better “you.” It’s the person you know you could be if you just tried a bit harder. It’s not impossible, but you’ll have to push a little bit to get there.

But keeping up with your better self is not an easy task. It requires hard work and persistence, and to help you (and myself) improve the current versions of ourselves, I’ve developed a couple of strategies to help us explore and maximize our potential.

  • Write down your goals

Sit down, concentrate, and write down what you want to achieve in your life and whatever your age is, you have to know and believe that it’s never late to be what you have always wanted to be. You don’t need to create a masterpiece; just create a simple list of your long-term and short-term goals, why you want to achieve them, how to achieve them, and how you would feel if you succeeded. Will you be proud of yourself?

  • Believe in “you.”

What you believe about yourself, your circumstances, the future, and your ability to influence the future will impact the outcomes you achieve. Recognize that when you have a lack of belief in yourself is holding you back from making good choices. Give yourself credit for your achievements so far, and respect the strengths you possess. Accept that we all have areas of weakness but also have strengths to offer.

  • Change your techniques

Sometimes you already know the goals you want to achieve in life. But sometimes, it’s not clear what techniques you should follow to maximize your full potential.

The best way to figure these techniques out is to try doing things differently. Make a list of productivity tips you’ve learned from your friends and try them. For example: Get up and meditate for 5 minutes before starting your day. Or, if the first thing you do after you get to your office is check your email, instead organize your ideas and write down a to-do list for the day.

  • Review your performance and track your progress

Check your performance regularly and track your progress. Then, sit down and think about what you’ve been doing well and what you need to work on more; write down the actions you would take to overcome them, and if you’re still having trouble staying on track, find someone else to help you stay accountable.

  • Take responsibility

Success begins with taking responsibility for the choices you make and the outcomes you achieve. Choose to take the driver’s seat of your life. Life can be challenging, but your choices define your life experience.

  • Motivate yourself

Stay motivated, and always keep your spirit energized. Visualize the results. Sit back and remember why you chose your path in the first place.
